Paola effettua guide anche agli Uffizi, ma non sapendolo prima abbiamo purtroppo perso l’occasione. It was our first visit to Italy and so we opted for the ‘walking tour’ of Florence. Paola gave us an amazing tour, not just of the sights, but of the political and art history and how they shaped Florence. (Her English is excellent.) It was a lot to digest, but we found ourselves understanding the city much more throughly. And wishing that we had been able to stay longer. She also arranged for us to have a reserved time at the Uffizi Gallery, which saved us a lot of time in a line-up.”

We will visit the “Royal Palace” of Florence, home of all ruling families of the city: Medici, Lorraine and Savoia (king of Italy).
It is an overwhelming museum, full of things to see.
In order to appreciate its beauties, it has to be done at a slow pace.
There are the paintings of incredible artists likeFilippo Lippi, Raphael (10 paintings!), Titian, Rubens…..but there is also astonishing furniture, frescoed ceilings, stuccos….
You’ll be told about stories of people that lived in the palace, about their lives as well as a description of the paintings
