Hotel Kursaal & Ausonia is a small boutique hotel that offers traditional-styled rooms and family-run hospitality in the heart of Florence's historical centre, midway between the Duomo and Florence's central train station. 
It was our first visit to Italy and so we opted for the 'walking tour' of Florence. Paola gave us an amazing tour, not just of the sights, but of the political and art history and how they shaped Florence. (Her English is excellent.) It was a lot to digest, but we found ourselves understanding the city much more throughly. And wishing that we had been able to stay longer. She also arranged for us to have a reserved time at the Uffizi Gallery, which saved us a lot of time in a line-up.”
