Rising behind the Pitti Palace, the last residence of the Medici family, the Boboli and the Bardini Gardens can be considered two of the best examples of the Italian Garden, which later inspired those of many European courts.

Guided Florence Tours will take you away from the noise and crowds of the city, visiting these amazing gardens to offer you beauty, silence, history and breathtaking views. This tour is ideal for those visitors who want to know the history of royal gardens.

We will start with the Boboli Gardens and we will illustrate you their complex design, characterized by sculptures, architectures, waterworks and plants, so that you will be able to see the most important principles of a Renaissance garden and the way styles changed as it became a Baroque garden.

Then we will move to the Bardini Gardens, which is much smaller in comparison, but where we will take a journey through the real history of the Florentine gardens. You will learn to recognize the most important characteristics of the Renaissance garden (as for the Boboli) and you will enjoy the wildness of the English garden at the same time.

You will be amazed by the Channel of the Dragon and the garden’s magnificent collection of azaleas, the wisteria-covered pergola and the monumental Baroque staircase.

The tour is about 2 and half hours
